We’re now looking for an Inclusion and Wellbeing Manager to lead and evolve our organisation-wide agenda in this space. This is a highly visible, influential role where you’ll set direction, drive meaningful change, and ensure inclusion and wellbeing remain central to how we operate as a business.
About the role:
This is a standalone specialist role with real impact. You’ll act as Spire’s subject-matter expert, shaping strategy, influencing senior leaders, and turning data and insight into practical action across our hospitals and corporate teams. You’ll balance big-picture thinking with hands-on delivery — building frameworks, supporting employee networks, strengthening governance, and ensuring we meet both our legal obligations and our ambitions as an employer of choice.
What you’ll be leading:
- Define and continually evolve Spire’s Inclusion, Equity and Wellbeing strategy, with clear KPIs and measurable outcomes.
- Use workforce data, engagement insight and people metrics to identify priorities and target action.
- Build compelling business cases to influence investment and keep inclusion and wellbeing at board-level.
- Own UK mandatory and voluntary reporting (e.g. gender and ethnicity pay, Parker Review, FTSE Women Leaders) and the accompanying narratives.
- Track progress at Group level and challenge where momentum stalls.
- Provide governance, structure and coaching to our employee networks (including Race Equality, LGBTQ+, Menopause and Mental Health First Aiders).
- Create consistent frameworks so networks are supported, accountable and impactful.
- Partner with hospitals to share best practice and build on local inclusion and wellbeing activity.
- Work with Learning & Development to strengthen inclusive leadership capability.
- Lead relevant accreditations, benchmarking and award submissions, supporting Spire’s external profile.
- Keep ahead of external trends, legislation and best practice — bringing fresh thinking and constructive challenge.

- A clear, credible Inclusion and Wellbeing roadmap with progress tracked across the organisation.
- Employee networks operating confidently within a consistent governance model.
- Policies and wellbeing initiatives that are inclusive, compliant and consistently applied.
- Evidence-based progress on representation, engagement and retention in priority areas.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who combines expertise, credibility and pragmatism. You’ll be comfortable operating independently, influencing at senior levels, and turning strategy into action.
You’ll likely bring:
- A proven track record in a dedicated ED&I, inclusion or wellbeing role within a complex, multi-site organisation.
- Experience designing and delivering inclusion strategies with measurable impact.
- Strong, applied knowledge of UK employment, equality and wellbeing legislation.
- Hands-on experience with UK reporting requirements and data-driven insight.
- Confidence managing and governing employee networks or similar forums.
- A commercial mindset — focusing on what genuinely drives change.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage diverse audiences.
