Spire Hartswood Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Pre-Assessment Nurse to join our experienced nursing team, working ad hoc bank shifts. Spire Hartswood Hospital is a 49 bed hospital with 4 theatres and offers a comprehensive range of services and facilities. Duties and responsibilities

This is a key patient safety role within Spire - The post holder will be responsible for supporting the ongoing development of the Pre-operative assessment (POA) service ensuring safe and effective pre-operative care. Reporting to the Pre-Operative Assessment Lead/Manager, the post holder is responsible for contributing to the quality within the POA department and escalation of any quality concerns. The post holder will contribute to embedding the ePOA system at the hospital, following and maintaining the standardised POA process, contributing to key efficiencies such as clinic scheduling, screening of patients and monitoring of key clinical outcomes. Ideally, they will be able to demonstrate an advanced level of assessment skills with analysis of clinical findings to determine fitness to proceed to surgery.

  • Be NMC registered - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience which must include surgical experience, POA experience is desirable.
  • Have a range of nursing skills supported by professional and clinical knowledge.
