Spire St Anthony's Hospital is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Hospital Engineering Manager to lead our Estates and Engineering function. This is a key leadership role responsible for managing five heritage buildings, ensuring compliance, safety, and operational excellence across the hospital site. If you have a strong background in engineering or building services, proven project management experience, and a passion for leading teams in a healthcare setting, we’d love to hear from you.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of safe, efficient, and compliant engineering services across the hospital site.
- Ensure best practice and consistency in all aspects of engineering and estates management.
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring buildings and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.
- Manage and develop a skilled team of site engineers and handymen, supporting their professional growth.
- Ensure full compliance with Spire’s Fire Policy and all regulatory requirements, including CQC and Public Health England standards.
- Act as the hospital’s Approved Person (AP) for key systems including medical gases, water safety, low voltage electrical services, decontamination equipment, and heating & ventilation.
Who We’re Looking For
- AP Qualification is desired.
- A relevant background in electrical, plumbing, or building services engineering.
- Previous experience of working within a hospital or healthcare environment is an essential requirement of this role.
- Strong management experience essential.
- Previous experience in managing a team.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
