We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Hospital Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time, permanent basis at Spire Norwich Hospital. Spire Norwich Hospital is a leading private hospital in Norfolk and East Anglia. Situated on Old Watton Road in Norwich, the hospital features 60 modern private rooms with ensuite facilities, as well as four operating theatres.

As a Hospital Accountant you will be responsible to support the Finance Director with the preparation, delivery and analysis of key financial information enabling the hospital leadership team to make well informed decisions to ensure future stability, growth and profitability.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday between 9 am and 5 pm

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time

Duties And Responsibilities (not Limited To):

  • To support the Finance Director in the preparation and delivery of monthly accounts, including journal preparation and posting and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support the Finance Director with detailed analysis of P&L's and revenue streams to ensure maximisation of EBITDA.
  • Support with group reports, forecasts, KPI's and commentaries.
  • Maintain a detailed understanding of hospital costs base and revenue streams.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger for hospital overheads - to include complete and accurate month end accruals, prepayments and spend analysis.

What do you need to have?

  • Excellent numeracy and accuracy skills.
  • AAT Qualified or equivalent.
  • CIMA/ACCA qualified or part qualified candidate is essential.
  • Intermediate Excel skill is essential, for example, competent with pivot tables, VLookups, and IF functions with the ability to design appropriately formatted tables, reports and charts.
  • Strong administrative skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Confident telephone manner with the ability to communicate with a wide range of customers at all levels.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, both internally and externally.
