As a Product Assurance Engineer at Spire, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of our space systems as we expand our fleet and take on new missions.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in aerospace, space, or other high‑reliability environments who is looking to deepen their expertise and contribute directly to mission success.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Implement Product Assurance processes across assigned projects or subsystems.
  • Contribute to the definition and flow‑down of PA requirements based on customer and project specifications.
  • Support compliance verification activities and document or justify deviations as required.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Project PA Plans and ensure they are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in reviews, audits, and technical meetings, providing PA input as needed.
  • Manage non‑conformities internally and with suppliers, ensuring proper documentation and visibility.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain project quality documentation.
  • Support reliability, dependability, and safety analysis activities under guidance from senior PA staff.
  • Contribute to supplier quality oversight, including documentation reviews and participation in supplier meetings.
  • Assist with hardware qualification, component selection, and technology validation activities.
  • Support risk management processes and contribute to mitigation planning.
  • Capture and promote lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives across projects.

  • Key Skills
  • Experience in the space, aerospace, or other high‑reliability engineering domain.
  • Understanding of Product Assurance or Quality Assurance principles.
  • Familiarity with standards used in high‑reliability environments (e. g., ECSS, NASA, DO‑254/178, ISO).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset with a structured approach to documentation and compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
  • Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of ECSS standards (or willingness to learn).
  • Experience with non‑conformity management tools or quality systems.
  • Exposure to reliability, safety, or dependability analysis.
  • Proactive, curious, and eager to develop within the Product Assurance discipline.

Spire operates a hybrid work model; this position requires a minimum of three days per week in the office.

Access to US export‑controlled software and/or technology may be required for this role.
