Are you an engineering student passionate about innovation and sustainability? This Year in Industry placement offers a unique opportunity to work across both Future Technology and Mechanical Engineering teams, contributing to cutting-edge projects in high-temperature heat pump development and advanced thermal systems. You’ll support experimental testing, analyse performance data, refine system models, and help shape sustainable solutions in the energy and decarbonisation sector.

Alongside this, you’ll gain hands-on experience in system design, component specification, technical documentation, and stakeholder collaboration. Ideal for students with a curious mindset, strong analytical thinking, and a drive to make a real impact, this placement equips you with practical engineering skills, project management experience, and exposure to strategic technology development—preparing you for a future in innovative, customer-focused engineering.
