Weld Cell Operator

Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

The role:

We are seeking a Weld Cell Operator to join our Machine Shop team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting and operating automated welding machines, ensuring high-quality production in line with engineering drawings and company standards. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is committed to continuous improvement and safety.

Key responsibilities:

• Set up and operate automated weld machines efficiently
• Produce components to engineering drawings, including deburring, cleaning, and packaging to standard procedures
• Inspect finished parts using measuring equipment (e.g., gauges, verniers, micrometers)
• Complete standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain accurate production records
• Maintain machine cleanliness and carry out frontline operator asset care (FLOAC)
• Work to production targets and daily plans
• Adhere to Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) standards and identify improvement opportunities
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the department
• Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams
• Remain flexible to support other duties as required

Your experience:

• Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment
• Basic weld operating experience
• Experience using measuring equipment for inspection
• Ability to work from engineering drawings
• Basic computer skills
• Understanding of working to production plans and targets
