The role:
We are seeking a Weld Cell Operator to join our Machine Shop team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting and operating automated welding machines, ensuring high-quality production in line with engineering drawings and company standards. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is committed to continuous improvement and safety.
Key responsibilities:
- Set up and operate automated weld machines efficiently
- Produce components to engineering drawings, including deburring, cleaning, and packaging to standard procedures
- Inspect finished parts using measuring equipment (e.g., gauges, verniers, micrometers)
- Complete standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain accurate production records
- Maintain machine cleanliness and carry out frontline operator asset care (FLOAC)
- Work to production targets and daily plans
- Adhere to Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) standards and identify improvement opportunities
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the department
- Collaborate with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality teams
- Remain flexible to support other duties as required
Your experience:
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- Basic weld operating experience
- Experience using measuring equipment for inspection
- Ability to work from engineering drawings
- Basic computer skills
- Understanding of working to production plans and targets
