Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Metrology and Surveillance Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead surveillance testing programmes, analysing product performance, identifying risks, and driving improvements through data-led insights.
  • Develop and validate metrology methods across dimensional, mechanical, and functional measurements.
  • Take ownership of measurement system analysis (MSA), ensuring robust, accurate and compliant measurement processes.
  • Design and optimise CMM programmes for complex, tight-tolerance components.
  • Create and implement test protocols and technical procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
  • Conduct hands-on testing and inspection, producing clear, evidence-based reports.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing and Quality teams to resolve technical challenges and support audits.

Who you’ll be working with:

You’ll collaborate with a wide range of expert teams across the business, giving you real visibility and influence:

  • R&D and Product Development teams – contributing metrology expertise to design reviews and product innovation.
  • Quality Engineering and Manufacturing – ensuring measurement systems and inspection processes deliver consistent, high-quality outputs.
  • Supplier Quality and external partners – supporting robust measurement standards across the supply chain.
  • Cross-functional stakeholders – providing data-driven insight during investigations, change control and continuous improvement activities.
  • Audit and compliance teams – presenting technical evidence and ensuring readiness for internal and external audits.

Skills/Experience:

We’re seeking a candidate who brings both strong technical expertise and a proactive, improvement-focused mindset:

Essential:

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering, Metrology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in metrology, dimensional inspection, or measurement systems engineering.
  • Proven ability in CMM programming (e.g. PC-DMIS, Calypso or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 within regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience developing technical procedures, inspection plans, and test protocols.
  • Expertise in statistical analysis, MSA, and capability studies.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with pumps, tubing, or fluid-handling systems.

You’ll also bring:

  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • A hands-on approach with testing equipment and measurement systems.
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Confidence presenting complex data to stakeholders and auditors.
