Overview
As Senior Developer, you will help build and scale Spirax Group’s cloud platform for connected industrial products. You will own end-to-end features across backend, data pipelines, and frontend, working from device decoding to analytics and user interfaces. You’ll drive technical direction, implement infrastructure-as-code, and mentor a distributed team. The role combines hands-on engineering with shaping architectural decisions and production excellence in a greenfield, Azure-based environment.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services and APIs in C#/.NET 8 and TypeScript (Node.js) with automated tests
- Develop event-driven data pipelines on Azure Functions, Event Hubs and Stream Analytics, decoding payloads and computing near real-time values
- Model and query large time-series datasets in Azure Data Explorer and Cosmos DB with attention to partitioning and cost
- Build and maintain a React 18/TypeScript frontend with accessibility and performance considerations
- Own infrastructure as code using Terraform and Bicep; extend Azure DevOps pipelines for CI/CD across environments
- Configure and operate platform edge, API management, and global routing with Azure Front Door
- Support production: instrument services, diagnose incidents, perform root-cause analysis, implement durable fixes
- Contribute to architecture decisions, design reviews, and documentation to evolve data and integration architecture
- Mentor developers and collaborate with product owners, QA, and other engineers in a remote-first team
Key requirements
- Strong commercial experience shipping and operating production cloud software
- Expertise in C#/.NET 8 and ASP.NET Core 8
- Server-side TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js experience
- Azure Functions, Event Hubs, Cosmos DB, Data Explorer, and related Azure services
- Terraform and Bicep for IaC; Azure DevOps pipelines
- Frontend with React 18 and TypeScript, using Vite
- Experience with REST API design, versioning, and security
- Scripting or data processing with Python
- Experience in industrial or IoT domains is desirable but not mandatory
