The role:

We’re looking for a Customer Service – Commercial & Export Co-ordinator to join our UK Supply Customer Service team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth processing of international shipments, supporting customers from order receipt through to delivery, and ensuring all export documentation and compliance requirements are met. You’ll work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and customers to ensure timely, accurate shipment of goods while maintaining high levels of customer service and adherence to export regulations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process export and shipping documentation, including commercial invoices and customs paperwork
  • Ensure all exports comply with HMRC regulations, VAT requirements and international trade legislation
  • Coordinate shipments with internal teams, freight forwarders, and operating companies
  • Act as a key point of contact for customer queries relating to orders, shipments and compliance
  • Monitor and track shipments, ensuring customers are kept informed at all stages
  • Support export requirements to new markets and manage post-Brexit Irish shipments
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with compliance standards
  • Create documentation such as Chamber of Commerce paperwork and invoices where required
  • Manage and prioritise open orders, expediting urgent shipments to meet business and customer needs
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies within export operations

Your experience:

  • Previous experience in a customer service or supply chain role within a fast-paced environment
  • Experience handling export processes, including shipping documentation and customs compliance
  • Understanding of international trade terms (Incoterms) and export regulations
  • Experience liaising with multiple stakeholders such as finance, logistics providers and customers
  • Familiarity with monitoring and managing customer orders through to fulfilment

Your skills:

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multitask and effectively prioritise workload
  • Proactive, organised and able to work independently
  • Strong customer service mindset with a “can-do” attitude
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while maintaining ownership of tasks
