We are seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Technician to join our Facilities Management team in Cheltenham. Working directly for the FM Head of Facilities, who holds day‑to‑day responsibility for the FM Maintenance Team, you will play a key role in ensuring our sites and premises are maintained to a high standard. The successful candidate will carry out and supervise building fabric, services, and grounds maintenance and repairs, ensuring a safe, effective, and well‑presented environment for staff, visitors, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, manage, and respond to applicable FM faults reported through the FM Helpdesk
- Assist in ensuring all premises provide a safe and healthy environment for staff and visitors
- Carry out repairs to building fabric, services, fixtures, and grounds
- Maintain site roads, paths, and car parks, including debris and litter clearance and seasonal gritting, salting, and snow clearance as required
- Carry out office moves, including packing and furniture relocation
- Undertake painting and decorating works
- Perform general landscaping duties including mowing, weeding, pruning, and grounds maintenance
- Complete planned maintenance activities, including periodic cleaning, testing, data recording, and fire alarm testing
- Identify, report, and help resolve developing maintenance issues
- Oversee and manage outsourced FM maintenance providers, ensuring service delivery and compliance with company EHS policies and procedures
- Support the implementation of FM activities during emergencies or incidents
- Manage small projects as directed by the FM Site Manager
- Carry out security and lock‑up duties as required
- Conduct daily inspections of buildings and grounds to identify, prioritise, and plan day‑to‑day work activities
- Use experience and technical knowledge to deliver effective repairs and maintenance, balancing business needs and cost considerations
Essential Skills And Experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Clean, full driving licence
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to standards and quality
