Weld Cell Operator (Early Shift)

Location: Cheltenham, UK (On-site)

Mon – Thurs 06:00-14:00 (30 min paid break)
Fri 06:00-12:00 (30 min paid break)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Weld Cell Operator to join our production team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for setting and operating automated weld machines to produce high-quality components in line with engineering specifications and company standards.

Your objectives and responsibilities will focus on…

  • Setting and operating automatic weld machines to meet production targets.
  • Producing parts to drawing specifications, including deburring, cleaning, and packaging.
  • Inspecting components using precision measuring tools such as gauges, verniers, and micrometers.
  • Completing standard operating procedures (SOPs), maintaining workplace organisation, and supporting front-line operator asset care (FLOAC).
  • Ensuring machine cleanliness and basic maintenance.
  • Complying with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) practices and company core values.
  • Actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Flexibility to undertake additional duties as required.
  • Driving your own personal development plan.
  • Your previous experience is likely to include….

  • Working in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Basic weld machine operation and setting experience.
  • Using measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Understanding of weld defects and quality issues.
  • Experience with various weld machines and materials.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with production planning.
  • Awareness of commercial impact and continuous improvement tools (. Six Sigma, 5Y).
  • Completion of a full engineering apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel.
