The role
As a Junior Software Developer at Spirax Group, you’ll kick‑start your career working on real, production‑grade systems that support global customers and sustainability‑focused engineering solutions. You’ll join a supportive, collaborative environment with structured mentoring, team rotations, and exposure to modern AI‑assisted software development practices. This is a graduate‑level role designed to help you grow quickly while contributing meaningful functionality from day one.
Key responsibilities
- Build, test and iterate production‑grade software using modern engineering practices
- Contribute to cloud‑native services, APIs, integrations, data workflows and industrial IoT solutions
- Work in an AI‑assisted engineering environment using Spec‑Driven Development (SSD)
- Collaborate with experienced engineers across the full software lifecycle, from specification to implementation
- Participate in code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, containerisation workflows and automated testing
- Rotate across engineering teams to gain experience in multiple technical domains
Your experience
- A recent graduate or early‑career developer with an interest in modern software engineering
- Academic or practical experience with software development (through degree projects, placements or internships)
- Exposure to cloud technologies, APIs, DevOps concepts or data‑driven systems is desirable
- A strong interest in learning new tools, technologies and development methodologies
Your skills
- Foundational programming skills (experience with TypeScript or similar languages is advantageous)
- Understanding of basic software engineering principles and development lifecycles
- A collaborative mindset with good communication skills
