Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and motivated Associate Engineer (Aflex) to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Become a key player in our Fluid Path NPI team as an Associate Engineer and help us drive forward our ambitious goals.
- The core function of Watson-Marlow’s NPI teams is to deliver new products to market.
- Fluid Path NPI also acts as a custodian of design intent for existing Fluid Path products and must authorize any changes to product or manufacturing processes.
- Assist with the delivery of technical projects that will deliver new products to market.
- Help with documentation, scheduling and reporting (working within ISO9001).
- You will be competent in CAD and be able to draw and modify 3D models.
- Learn to create and update engineering drawings following Engineering Change Orders and will integrate engineering information within Watson-Marlow’s AX and Windchill systems.
- Analyse product requirements to specify prototypes and detail any product testing required to verify designs.
- Engage with existing manufacturing processes to oversee the manufacture of prototypes and subsequent production parts.
- Build prototype hose assemblies for testing as required.
- Conduct the testing of materials, hose assemblies and other relevant attributes.
- Review test data and report findings to the wider team.
- Evaluate and critique ideas and make suggestions for improvements.
- Contribute to risk management of projects and processes through Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) and process FMEA’s (PFMEAs).
- Engage with the Watson-Marlow’s Health and Safety protocols and systems to ensure safe work at all times.
Skills/Experience
- Basic knowledge of engineering, particularly in terms of new product development.
- You must be able to prioritise work to deliver on time and to budget.
- Competent in at least one CAD programme.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- You can communicate effectively and be willing to ask questions to develop your knowledge.
- Positively engage with environment, health and safety “EHS” requirements and initiatives.
- You are eager to learn.
