Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and motivated Lead Manufacturing Technician (Injection Moulding) to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the efficient use and maximised output of manufacturing within BioPure.
  • Ensure procedural compliance and adherence to high health and safety standards.
  • Oversee and manage the repair and servicing of all production mould tooling with external toolmakers.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement across manufacturing including SMED, cycle time and scrap reduction projects.
  • Accurately maintain documentation to ensure full product traceability and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Hold overall responsibility for your team of technicians, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to meet production plans and business needs.
  • Troubleshoot machinery and tooling defects, produce detailed tooling reports, and work directly with toolmakers to resolve issues.
  • Manage the daily workload of your team by effectively prioritising tasks to meet operational goals.
  • Oversee mould tool changes, set-ups, and production approvals, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and eliminating waste throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Work with HR to address and investigate concerns related to disciplinary actions, performance management, or sickness absence.
  • Maintain documentation to ensure compliance with BS EN ISO 14644 cleanroom requirements, BS EN ISO 9001, and cGMP standards.
  • Liaise with Planning, Manufacturing, Warehouse, and Quality Control teams to maintain an efficient manufacturing flow.
  • Support engineering in the process development of new tooling projects.

Skills/Experience

  • Significant technical experience in injection moulding and mould tool setting, ideally in a Medical or Pharmaceutical environment.
  • Experience leading and managing a team effectively.
  • Hands-on experience setting up new processes for both cold runner and hot runner tools.
  • Strong understanding of BS EN ISO 9001 and cGMP standards.
  • Knowledge of BS EN ISO 14644 cleanroom requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of IQ/OQ/PQ validation processes within a regulated pharmaceutical setting.
  • Experience working within Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) frameworks.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing to BS EN ISO 9001 standards is highly desirable.
