Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior TPM Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
    • Support planned preventative maintenance activities on manufacturing and facility equipment.
    • Assist with fault finding and repair activities on electro-mechanical equipment under guidance from experienced engineers.
    • Help maintain equipment reliability through routine inspections, condition monitoring and preventive maintenance tasks.
    • Support the installation, commissioning and validation of new equipment where required.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Participate in root cause investigations relating to equipment failures and production issues.
    • Support continuous improvement activities focused on safety, reliability, efficiency and cost reduction.
    • Assist in developing and improving maintenance procedures, visual aids and TPM standards.
    • Contribute ideas and solutions to improve equipment performance and manufacturing processes.
  • Documentation & Compliance
    • Maintain accurate maintenance records using company systems and documentation processes.
    • Support the creation and review of standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions and equipment records.
    • Work in accordance with GMP requirements, engineering standards and company policies.
    • Follow all safety procedures and help promote a positive safety culture throughout the site.
  • Learning & Development
    • Complete structured development and training programmes.
    • Work alongside experienced TPM engineers to build competence across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and automation systems.
    • Develop practical knowledge of manufacturing equipment including extrusion machinery, pumps, motors, conveyor systems, environmental controls and automated production equipment.
    • Take ownership of personal development plans and actively seek opportunities to expand technical capability.

Who you’ll be working with

  • TPM Team
    • You will work closely with TPM Engineers, Team Leaders and Manufacturing Engineering colleagues who will provide technical support, coaching and mentoring.
  • Value Streams
    • Build positive working relationships with operators, setters, supervisors and production managers to support equipment reliability and continuous improvement.
  • Suppliers & Contractors
    • Work with external suppliers and contractors during equipment servicing, installation and improvement activities.

Skills / Experience

  • Essentials
    • Engineering apprenticeship, HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Manufacturing Engineering.
    • A genuine interest in maintenance, equipment engineering and problem solving.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new technical skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and technical documentation.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership of tasks.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practices.
    • Computer literacy and ability to maintain technical records.
  • Desirable
    • Previous industrial, manufacturing or maintenance experience through employment, apprenticeship, training placement or work experience.
    • Basic understanding of electrical systems, motors and control equipment.
    • Experience using hand tools and workshop equipment.
    • Familiarity with continuous improvement techniques.
    • Knowledge of GMP or regulated manufacturing environments.
    • Exposure to pneumatic, hydraulic or automated systems.
