We are looking for a motivated Software Integration Apprentice to join our Integration team and help build reliable, secure integrations across our application, data, and analytics landscape. You will learn hands-on with Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management, Data Factory) and the Talend/Qlik platform (Talend Data Integration/ESB; Qlik data integration and analytics ecosystem). This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in enterprise integration, data analytics, and software design, working alongside experienced professionals to support the design, development, testing, and monitoring of integration solutions across our platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain integrations using Azure Integration Services and Talend/Qlik tools.
- Assist with data flows, mappings, and API lifecycle support.
- Support event-driven integration and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Contribute to DevOps, testing, observability.
- Document technical processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support integration testing using JavaScript, SQL, and other scripting tools.
- Maintain and query relational databases, ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Use Excel for data manipulation, mapping, and problem solving.
- Use workflows to support file transfer and integration.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.
What you will learn:
- Principles of integration architecture and enterprise systems.
- Hands-on experience with data management, ETL processes, and API integrations.
- Advanced Excel techniques including Power Query and VBA.
- Software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and agile practices.
- Academic modules including software engineering, data analytics, and IT business analysis.
Qualifications:
- Have a passion for technology, software/data integration and cloud technologies, and problem-solving.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of programming or scripting (e.g., JavaScript, SQL, Python, JSON).
- Understanding of Microsoft Excel and interest in integration tools.
- Exposure to Azure Integrated Services.
- Basic understanding of relational and noSQL databases.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Completed a Level 3 Software Development Apprenticeship with QA or an equivalent qualification with another training provider.
- Or an A-level in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) subject and a successful completion of our aptitude test.
- Or a BTEC Diploma in IT and a successful completion of our aptitude test.
- Or 2 years' experience in a relevant role and successful completion of our aptitude test.
- You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance, you could still be considered for the programme.
- If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
