Location: Cardrew Industrial Estate, Redruth
This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract established to provide essential Human Resources support and is intended as a Year in Industry (YiNI) opportunity for an undergraduate student. You will be supporting Watson-Marlow’s Central Functions and Strategic Business Development team. Working under the guidance of the HR Advisor for Central Functions and SBD, you will assist with a wide range of operational HR processes and projects that enable a rapidly growing business.
Key Accountabilities include:
- HR Administration
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR team across a range of HR activities.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR systems are updated in a timely manner.
- Manage HR documentation, electronic filing and data management processes.
- Produce HR reports, presentations and management information as required.
- Support payroll administration by liaising with Payroll.
- Processing purchase orders and invoices.
- Recruitment and Onboarding
- Support recruitment activities, including interview scheduling, candidate communications and onboarding administration.
- Coordinate pre-employment checks and new starter documentation.
- Assist in delivering a positive onboarding experience for new employees.
- Employee Lifecycle Support
- Prepare HR documentation including contracts, letters and employee correspondence.
- Support employee changes including promotions, transfers and leavers.
- Respond to routine employee and manager queries, escalating where appropriate.
- Performance, Engagement and Projects
- Support the administration of performance management activities, including objective setting, talent reviews and annual review cycles.
- Assist with employee engagement, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives.
- Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement activities.
- Support the development and maintenance of HR policies, procedures and guidance.
- HR Systems and Continuous Improvement
- Support the maintenance and improvement of HR systems, SharePoint/Intranet sites and HR resources.
- Assist with HR data analysis and reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and ways of working.
Skills/Experience:
- A good standard of general education, particularly in English and maths.
- Experience of using MS packages including working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills.
