Job Summary:
Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions (WMFTS) is seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the global Biopure single-use components and fittings portfolio, and WM Architect single-use assemblies portfolio, supporting the Life Sciences sector. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in Product Management within a life sciences B2B environment, ideally with experience in engineering-led product development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer & Market Insight: Act as the voice of the customer for downstream bioprocessing applications, translating customer needs and operational challenges into product requirements and priorities. Conduct customer discovery activities, including Voice of Customer interviews, application reviews, process observations, and data analysis. Develop compelling customer value propositions based on key drivers such as risk reduction, process efficiency, compliance, and total cost of ownership. Monitor market, competitor, and regulatory developments to inform product strategy, positioning, and growth opportunities.
- Product Strategy & Portfolio Management: Own the product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management of the Downstream Processing portfolio from concept to end-of-life. Develop Market Requirements Documents (MRDs), support validation activities, and oversee field trials. Define portfolio positioning, messaging, and differentiation strategies to drive market adoption and profitable growth. Lead new product proposals, business cases, launch planning, and go-to-market execution. Identify opportunities to leverage synergies between single-use technologies and WMFTS hardware solutions.
- Commercial Performance: Manage portfolio profitability through pricing, margin management, segmentation, and growth strategies. Monitor portfolio performance, including sales growth, profitability, win/loss analysis, product vitality, customer feedback, and lifecycle metrics. Drive continuous portfolio optimisation, including rationalisation and end-of-life management. Equip sales teams with value-based selling tools, training, and customer success evidence.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sales to deliver high-quality products that meet customer and market needs. Act as the primary Product Management contact for manufacturing sites and external production partners. Support lifecycle, supply, change management, and customer-critical issues across manufacturing locations. Represent WMFTS at industry events, conferences, and technical forums, strengthening market presence and customer relationships.

- Delivery of the product portfolio strategy and five-year roadmap.
- Product Vitality Index performance.
- Sales growth and profitability of assigned product ranges.
- Business case and NPI pipeline performance.
- Effective product launches and lifecycle management.
Key Relationships:
- Global Sales Teams, Key Accounts, OEMs, integrators, and industry partners.
- Strategic customers and application experts.
- Internal stakeholders across Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Marketing.
Skills/Experience:
- Experience within the Life Sciences sector (Pharma, Biopharma, or Medical Devices).
- Knowledge of single-use technologies, components, assemblies, and associated applications.
- Experience in Product Management or a closely related commercial or technical role.
- Understanding of engineering-led product development projects.
- Ability to travel as required within the UK and internationally for customer visits, conferences, trade shows, and WMFTS locations.
