Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Production Operative (Plastic Extrusion) to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with the Company Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability Policies, reporting any potentially dangerous issues/faults to your direct Team Leader or Production Manager including but not limited to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
  • To ensure quality products are produced in the required quantity, on time, and at the lowest possible cost, in a manner in keeping with the Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures of the company.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude to training and personal development.
  • Monitor the performance of the process ensuring maximum output is achieved at all times.
  • Carry out and document the correct quality control checks for each job performed, completing all production paperwork.
  • Work as a team to ensure departmental targets, company targets and customer deadlines are achieved.
  • Degreasing of hoses.
  • Testing of hose.
  • Reeling up of hose.
  • Operate a plastic extruder.
  • Adhere to correct procedures.
  • Ensure that all documentation is completed at the correct time.
  • Adhere to safe working practices at all times.
  • To perform the necessary safety checks to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the department and to operate in a manner conversant with the training given.
  • Ensure adherence to 5S in the department.
  • Transfer to other areas of the department/business as and when requested.
  • Ensure that the department’s machines are kept in good working condition. Report any major maintenance issues immediately.
  • Responsibility to ensure compliance with the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and Regulations made under that Act which are relevant to site activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Company Safety, Health and Environmental Policies.
  • Ensure all PPE is worn at all times where applicable.
  • The Extrusion of PVC, Polyurethane and other materials.
  • Work is mainly manual handling, some of which is heavy.

Skills/Experience:

  • Highly motivated able to work as part of a team, flexibility required to cover sickness holidays overtime etc.
  • Must possess positive working attitude.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Quality orientated.
  • Good level of numeracy and general education.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate with other workers.
  • Ability and willingness to perform manual work.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • To work to the company values.
  • Previous experience within mechanical engineering, extrusion, injection moulding, and an understanding of pressure and flow would be an advantage.
