Role Summary
The EHS Manager plays a crucial role in guiding our Health, Safety, and Sustainability initiatives. Your leadership will be vital in driving performance, compliance, and continuous improvement across all our sites. This position is key to building a culture of safety and sustainability, ensuring we meet our legal, financial, and moral obligations.

What you’ll be doing

• Strategy Implementation: Execute EHS and Sustainability strategies, ensuring compliance and enhancing performance.
• Leadership and Vision: Inspire and motivate colleagues to achieve excellence, mentoring them in developing new skills.
• EHS Compliance and Risk Management: Lead internal audits, monitor risk assessments, investigate incidents, and ensure plant and personnel safety.
• Best Practices: Develop and deploy best practices for EHS and Sustainability, manage sustainability frameworks, and optimise performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
• Departmental Management: Provide leadership, develop annual plans, manage budgets, and ensure high performance in EHS, Facilities, and Sustainability departments.

Who you will be working with
You will be a proactive member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), collaborating with various departments and external contractors. You will work closely with sustainability leaders, local teams, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and drive strategic development across all areas of responsibility.

Your key objective will be to cultivate a Health and Safety culture that promotes zero accidents and incidents, while maximising social impact and minimising environmental impact through effective sustainability practices.

The successful candidate will always consider the safety and wellbeing of others. They will look to build relationships across the business, working collaboratively, sharing expertise and helping others. They will seek excellence in all they do, and operate with integrity and respect whilst always putting the customer first.

Skills/Experience:

This is what you’ll need to be successful in this role

• Self-Management and Motivation: Highly motivated with strong leadership skills, able to work effectively in multiple teams.
• Advocacy and Communication: Strong influencing, communication, and engagement skills to drive change across all levels and functions.
• Strategic Vision: Ability to plan and implement clear strategies for EHS, Sustainability, and Facilities.
• Pragmatism and Practicality: Develop processes and standards, manage teams, and align EHS requirements with operational needs to ensure safety while considering business continuity.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience: Proven experience in leading and implementing best-practice EHS processes, conducting audits, risk assessments, and managing projects within an industry environment (manufacturing environment desirable, but not essential).
• Qualifications: Educated to degree level in EHS or equivalent NVQ Level 7
• Valid qualification in occupational Health and Safety e.g. BSc/BA in Safety management, NEBOSH diploma.
• Achieved a diploma or above in Leadership and Management (desirable)
