Role Purpose
To lead the delivery of the engineering project portfolio across the GSC manufacturing network, ensuring engineering improvement initiatives, product introductions, product transfers and strategic manufacturing programmes are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in alignment with business objectives.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of engineering projects across the manufacturing network, partnering with site engineering teams to align priorities, capacity and resources.
- Identify, prioritise and implement projects that support business growth, including product transfers, rationalisation and cost optimisation (VAVE).
- Own portfolio governance, resource planning and consistent ways of working across the engineering portfolio.
- Hold design authority, ensuring all engineering solutions meet required quality, compliance and regulatory standards.
- Work cross-functionally with stakeholders to align priorities, resources and delivery plans.
- Support the development of engineering capability and knowledge sharing across the network.
- Develop and manage tacit knowledge transfer within engineering processes and projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing engineering projects in a global manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Stage Gate, Agile or similar).
- Experience with product transfer, NPI and cost optimisation programmes.
- Substantial experience performing design authority responsibilities (Machining, Casting, Pressing, Forging).
- Solid understanding of quality systems, engineering change processes and compliance requirements.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Steam systems, products and applications understanding.
- Minimum HND in an engineering related discipline (or equivalent).
Preferred
- MSc in business management or engineering discipline (or equivalent).
- Experience recruiting and developing engineering talent.
- Proficient in MS, PLM, PDM and ERP applications.
- Experience of product design (ASME & EN Design Codes) and model/drawing (ISO GPS and ASME Y14.5).
