Spares Project Engineer in Banbury

Full time Permanent Location: Banbury (office and warehouse-based)

Salary: c£40,000 based on experience

Are you an organised, detail-focused problem solver who enjoys keeping things moving? We’re looking for a Spares Project Engineer to join our small and busy team. This is a varied role where no two days are quite the same. You’ll be responsible for coordinating spare parts and associated works, managing suppliers and deliveries, arranging plant and equipment, preparing project documentation and making sure everything is in place for jobs to run smoothly. The majority of the role is office-based, so you’ll need to be comfortable working with computer systems and managing a number of tasks at the same time. A key part of the role is using Sage X3. Don’t worry if you haven’t used Sage X3 before — training will be provided — but it is a complex system, so you’ll need to be confident with technology, a quick learner and someone who enjoys getting to grips with new systems.

What will you be doing? You’ll be involved in the end-to-end coordination of spares projects, including:

• Managing orders and project information accurately using Sage X3
• Preparing and updating documentation for new and existing clients and projects
• Coordinating with clients, suppliers and internal teams
• Booking plant and equipment and ensuring it is available when needed
• Managing time-critical deliveries and making sure parts and equipment arrive where and when they are needed
• Supporting with quotations and costing information as required
• Producing project reports
• Following up outstanding actions and keeping projects on track
• Supporting accurate and timely invoicing
• Helping to identify solutions when things don't go according to plan
• Responding to customer enquiries and providing a high level of customer service
• Raising purchase orders for the team and supporting with procurement activities
• Managing the small on-site warehouse, including organising stock and ensuring parts and equipment are available when required
• Helping and supporting colleagues across the team when needed

The warehouse element is a relatively small part of the role, but it is important that you're someone who is happy to roll up your sleeves and get involved. We're a small team, so everyone helps out.

You’ll ideally have project management experience, some knowledge of mechanical engineering and experience of health and safety documentation. An HNC in a relevant engineering subject, or equivalent experience, is required, along with a full driving licence. Experience with AutoCAD, CDM, PUWER, LOLER or other relevant qualifications would be advantageous.
