Spinwell is recruiting for a Senior Ecologist for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ECOLOGIST
- Survey ecosystems and assess the diversity, profusion and behaviour of the different organisms within them.
- Conduct field surveys to collect biological information about the numbers and distribution of organisms.
- Carry out taxonomy, classification of organisms, apply sampling strategies and employ a range of habitat survey techniques.
- Utilise aerial photography, maps, environmental impact assessment, analyse and interpret data using specialist software programs.
- Work on habitat management and creation, write reports and issue recommendations.
- Liaise with and advise site managers, engineers, planners and others associated with a survey, building relationships with stakeholders.
- Keep up to date with new environmental policies and legislation, contributing ideas about changes based on ecological findings.

- Experienced and confident.
- Comfortable working across senior management and front line staff – need someone who can deliver and is able to hit the ground running.
