  • Contract Length: Until 02/04/27
  • Location: Hybrid/York, Leeds, Newcastle or Doncaster – 3 days onsite however there will be travel so this will be counted as days onsite
  • IR35: Inside
  • Pay Rate to Intermediary: Β£385 per day

Spinwell is recruiting for a Senior Ecologist for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ECOLOGIST

  • Survey ecosystems and assess the diversity, profusion and behaviour of the different organisms within them.
  • Conducting field surveys to collect biological information about the numbers and distribution of organisms.
  • Carrying out taxonomy, classification of organisms, applying sampling strategies and employing a range of habitat survey techniques.
  • Aerial photography, maps carrying, environmental impact assessment, analysing and interpreting data, using specialist software programs.
  • Working on habitat management and creation, writing reports and issuing recommendations.
  • Liaising with and advising, site managers, engineers, planners and others associated with a survey building relationships with stakeholders.
  • Keeping up to date with new environmental policies and legislation, contributing ideas about changes based on ecological findings.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SENIOR ECOLOGIST

  • Experienced and confident
  • Comfortable working across senior management and front line staff – need someone who can deliver and able to hit the ground running.
  • Being able to influence and collaborate across different disciplines and adapt to that.
