RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PRODUCT LEAD
- Be primary point of contact for stakeholders ensuring clear communication and alignment on product vision and progress.
- Engage with stakeholders and SMEs to understand and assess against overall priorities and available resources.
- Manage and support your team of functional SMEs to deliver agreed outcomes set against your roadmap.
- Align with peers to ensure consistent approach across the Met understanding and ability to make functional changes to the product as well as manage any SMEs or functional experts who will support you in your projects.
- Support the operational teams in changes they may need to make including testing, change management etc.
- Define and prioritise product features and be able to prioritise through extensive collaboration and negotiation supported by outcomes and value.
- Analyse data (evidence) including customer feedback to understand the pain points and frustrations to drive out improved experience that gain the right outcomes.
- Use evidence to understand trends, compliance, usage etc to create opportunities for improvements that matter most.
- Understand the technology that supports the product.
- Work closely with development teams (internal and external) to support the product development.
- Document and present technology proposals/recommendations to the HoP that provide clear benefits and costs from which a decision can be made.
- Drive continuous improvement in technical solutions that support New Met for London priorities.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE PRODUCT LEAD
- 5 years product management or functional experience with at least 2 within HR Systems.
- Experience as a product manager, functional lead or owner preferably within internal product space.
- Understanding of SaaS based solutions supporting back office services like Oracle ERP HCM Cloud useful.
- Public Sector experience is desirable; policing experience is desirable.
- Understanding of project management of technology development and implementations.
- Experience of managing a small team of individuals providing clear direction, support and resolution.
- Understanding of shaping product strategy and product delivery capabilities.
- Experience in creating technology strategies and roadmaps aligned to business strategies.
- Knowledge of public sector shared services and the challenges they face.
- Managing a functional enhancements team.
- Educated to high level.
- Understanding of SaaS based products.
- Practical knowledge of core end to end services covering across HR teams.
- Knowledge of Oracle HCM Cloud technology supporting back office services.
- Knowledge of operations of best-in-practice ERP and other industry leading HR platforms.
- Detailed knowledge of product lifecycles processes including testing & change management.
