Spinwell is recruiting for a Medical Rostering Advisor for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
Responsibilities
- To support managers in developing knowledge and understanding of workforce information systems and their capabilities in order to optimise their use in managing the workforce.
- To provide support and training to managers and staff across the Trust to ensure systems are used effectively, appropriately and in accordance with Data Protection legislation.
- To take responsibility for specific areas of work within medical rostering particularly relating to Working Time Directive (WTD), contract compliance and roster support.
- To ensure the generation and distribution of reports relating to data collected following monitoring.
- To participate in the delivery of a comprehensive administration function to support the employment of medical staff, ensuring doctor contract and WTD compliance, co‑ordinating the monitoring of junior medical staff rotas, providing rota information and other administrative processes as required.
Skills / Experience
- Good educational achievements equivalent to GCSE A2 or relevant NVQ3 or equivalent experience
- Certificate in Personnel Practice (CPP) or equivalent level of knowledge of HR/MS administration and procedures
- Commitment to ongoing personal development
- Experience of working in a Medical Staffing role
- Knowledge of e‑rota to assist in the development of complex junior doctor’s rotas which are New Deal and EWTD compliant
- Working knowledge of monitoring procedures for junior doctors working hours
- Experience in rota management
- Experience in advising managers on best practice procedures including acting as best practice advisor to groups of medical staff
- Previous experience of co‑ordinating programmes on an ongoing basis
- Previous experience of feeding back information and meeting with groups of staff
- Working knowledge of EWTD, New Deal and issues affecting medical workforce
- Understanding of rebanding procedures
- Ability to deal with difficult situations in a professional manner
- Strong verbal and written communications skills including the ability to explain complex rotas to non-medical workforce
- Ability to prioritise in order to meet conflicting deadlines
- Ability to collect, collate and analyse information to enable informed decisions to be made
- Competent user of Microsoft office software
