RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MANAGER MEDICAL PEOPLE SERVICES
The Manager of Medical People Services is responsible for the provision of operational leadership in relation to people services provided to the Medical Workforce. This includes day-to-day running and leadership of a Medical Staffing Function ensuring the provision of high-quality, customer focused, operational services. The Manager of Medical People Services will act as a senior point of contact on all medical staffing issues, adherence to trust policies, employment legislation, terms and conditions of service and best practice.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE MANAGER MEDICAL PEOPLE SERVICES
- Masters in relevant field or equivalent relevant experience
- Membership of the CIPD or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Motivating, managing and developing effective teams
- Commitment to and experience of partnership working
- Effective budget and resource management
- Project Management
- Generating reports for a variety of audiences pulling together and using complex information from a number of sources
- Negotiating changes to working practices with key stakeholders within the organisation
- Volume recruitment and onboarding
- Agency issues and bank
- Negotiating and influencing at all levels
- Understanding and operating complex terms and conditions
- Knowledge/understanding of confidentiality issues
- Comprehensive and up to date knowledge of medical contracts in all their forms
- Working Time Directive and other legal requirements relating to medical staff
- Knowledge of bank and agency processes
- Knowledge of medical rotas and medical terms and conditions of employment
- Understanding of developments in the medical workforce
- Best practice recruitment
- Ability to interpret legislation and national guidance
- Evidence of ability to develop / contribute to strategy development
