Role: M365 Information Governance Specialist (REF 99942)
Contract Length: 12 months
Location: Remote – must be able to travel to London office as required
IR35: Inside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: £675 per day

Responsibilities of the M365 Information Governance Specialist
- Act as a subject matter expert on information controls within M365, from discovery and design through to implementation and assurance in managing the corporate record in M365.
- Lead the design of information lifecycle mechanisms, including retention and record labelling strategies, aligned to client policy, legislative requirements and risk appetite.
- Define information governance requirements for M365 apps (e.g. SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive), translating policy and records management needs into clear, implementable designs for tech colleagues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and deliver a revised M365 culture, improving user behaviours through training, engagement and key educational resources.
- Identify information risk, gaps, and edge cases (e.g. exclusions, complex retention scenarios) and elevate appropriately through governance and assurance routes.
- Contribute to the development of supporting policy and guidance to embed sustainable information governance in M365.
- Engage with programme boards and stakeholder forums to provide assurance and expert advice on information management decisions.
Skills & Experience
- Strong knowledge of information and records management principles, including ISO15489.
- Expertise in applying information governance controls within M365.
- Public Sector experience, predominantly with records management experience.
- Experience designing information lifecycle models, including retention and labelling strategies.
