Spinwell is recruiting for a In Service Engineer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

IN SERVICE ENGINEER JOB DESCRIPTION

You will be providing expert advice and managing elements of acquisition across a wide range of complex weapons, general munitions, and pyrotechnic devices.

Requirements

  • Generate technical requirements.
  • Define technical deliverables and artefacts.
  • Update supporting documentation for OME systems.
  • Consider through-life support requirements and associated costs.
  • Technical Data
  • Assist or act as the OME technical expert.
  • Compile technical data and oversee the technical quality of engineering documentation.
  • Focus on achieving successful technical outcomes.
  • Legislation, Policy and Standards
  • Apply relevant OME legislation, regulations, policies, processes and standards when delivering technical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant requirements, such as DSA02.
  • Actively contribute to the development and updating of regulations and standards.
  • Risk
  • Identify and analyse technical hazards and project impacts.
  • Contribute to the identification and evaluation of risk reduction measures.
  • Ensure risks and mitigation measures are adequately documented and managed.
  • Design
  • Lead design activities to meet customer requirements within realistic constraints of time, cost and performance.
  • Co-chair or influence design reviews with industry and other stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with and manage trade-offs between sub-system teams and technical specialists.
  • Resolve issues relating to technical requirements and design compromises.
  • Maximise successful system implementation and delivery.
  • Verification and Validation (V&V)
  • Lead or take responsibility for the OME test, verification, validation and evaluation process.

  • Manage the support and modification of operational systems.
  • Assess system certification requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, such as Def Stan 05-57.

  • Manage and participate in assurance, audit and review activities.
  • Disposal
  • Manage the disposal and decommissioning of OME equipment.
  • Technical Discipline
  • Support the OME specialism and the wider engineering profession.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring.
