Spinwell is recruiting for a Senior Environmental Health Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER
- Conduct inspections of commercial premises and enforce environmental health legislation
- Investigate complaints, incidents, and complex cases
- Prepare reports, case files, and prosecution documentation
- Lead targeted operations and projects across areas such as:
- Health & Safety
- Food standards
- Infectious disease control
- Licensing enforcement
- Build strong partnerships with businesses and stakeholders to drive compliance
- Provide expert advice to businesses and the public
- Manage complex investigations through to resolution or prosecution
- Support, coach, and guide junior officers (PO3/PO4 levels)
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER
- To hold an appropriate Environmental Health Registration Board approved academic qualification i.e. an MSc, BSc (Hons) or Diploma in Environmental Health awarded by EHRB or REHIS
- To be EHORB registered or Passed CIEH Assessment of Professional Competence (including deemed compliance via grandfather rights) or Assessment of Professional Development or EHP Portfolio and Professional Discussion to be recognised as minimum a ‘Registered Environmental Health Practitioner’
- Evidence of continuing professional development
