Spinwell is recruiting for a Head of Payroll for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

Contract Length: 6 months with possible extension or temp-to-perm

Location: Hybrid/Stratford - approx. 50% in office, may need more during busy periods

IR35: Inside

Pay Rate to Intermediary: £529.54 per day

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HEAD OF PAYROLL

  • Oversee payroll operations and team leadership.
  • Validate payroll data and ensure compliance.
  • Support SAP SuccessFactors migration project.
  • Liaise with implementation partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Handle governance and HMRC obligations.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE HEAD OF PAYROLL

  • Proven experience leading a payroll team.
  • Delivered in-house payroll solutions (not outsourced).
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, HMRC obligations, and year-end requirements.
  • Experience managing complex payroll operations.
