Role: Commercial Finance Lead

Contract Length: 3 months initially – highly likely to extend

Location: Hybrid (Bristol) – 1‑2 days per week onsite

IR35: Inside

Pay Rate to Intermediary: Market Rate

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COMMERCIAL FINANCE LEAD

  • Work with external advisers to test assumptions in relation to the financial flows and highlight areas where additional work is needed.
  • Work with the Commercial Lead, Finance and VAT specialists, to identify how VAT will be treated and highlight any operational issues.
  • Review the LCP policy and procedures to ensure coherence and that developments in the Assurance Strategy and Controls are fully captured and implemented.
  • Update Commercial Risk Logs with any additional financial risks, suggest and assist in the management of mitigation plans.
  • Develop the Finance and Economic Case in the Business Case.
  • Establish strong working relationships with the LCP Working Group and oversee the monthly MI and data packs.
  • Engage with key stakeholders in Op Fin and Fin Accounting on expenditure and controls.
  • Lead discussions with external financial leads in Barclaycard, Unite and Amazon Business.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE COMMERCIAL FINANCE LEAD

  • Either AAT or CIMA
  • Finance Management
  • Finance Policy
  • Stakeholder Management / Relationship – Internal and external
  • Confidence to present to senior stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills
  • Leadership and mentoring skills
  • Ability to engage with systems and recognise ERP experience
