Location: Hybrid/Bristol – 2-3 days per week on site

Spinwell is recruiting for an Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

Responsibilities of the Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineer

As a Senior Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineer, you will be using your deep knowledge and wide-ranging experience in providing expert advice and managing elements of acquisition and support a wide range of complex equipment from traditional fixed and rotary wing, through to Uncrewed Air Systems (UAS).

Skills/Experience of the Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineer

  • Experience of providing technical advice at a senior level and leading the delivery of successful engineering outcomes in multidisciplinary projects.
  • Wide ranging depth and breadth of technical experience in Aero engineering with knowledge and application of Systems Engineering approaches.
  • Be professionally registered as either Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Chartered Scientist (CSci).
  • Challenge and coach others in understanding how to apply correct technical legislation, regulation, standards, policies, and processes to use and follow during acquisition and support to equipment.
  • Challenge and coach others in understanding how to apply the most effective and efficient ways to process data.
  • Select suitable communication methods and challenge others appropriately if they are not.
  • Resolve potential conflicts between stakeholders.
  • Take appropriate action and lead where needed in responding to issues.
  • Coach others in conducting in-depth analysis on products or process and identify the correct action to rectify issues identified.
  • Make timely decisions related to accuracy and efficiency of your own and others’ work.
  • Effectively establish priorities and work sequencing; and challenge behaviours that are incompatible with the Civil Service Core Values.
  • Ensure risk management is conducted correctly and challenge those not making timely decisions that affect regulatory requirements, including where and when to safely quarantine equipment/products.
  • Plan and manage your own time and those reporting to you, to meet challenging and ambitious deadlines.
  • Carry out the correct action for coaching and supervision required for junior and/or equivalent graded staff that you may work with.
  • Identify your own shortfalls in knowledge and discuss appropriate options for self-development, setting short and medium priorities.
  • Coach others to find the most appropriate internal policy and processes.
