Spinwell is recruiting for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER
- Work with and maintain operational relationships with suppliers ensuring services and products are delivered aligned to industry best practice, regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Act as a major incident manager and escalation point for all service-related incidents.
- Responsibility of leading a team of Senior Engineers, providing expert advice or dealing with complex problems and providing specialist service/solution technical support.
- Provide updates for the risk register for individual technical area, ensuring appropriate management and mitigation plans and actions are implemented.
- Work closely with other senior leaders and teams, sharing information, providing advice and support around technical choices and implementation approach.
- Providing specialist knowledge and experience to input into the wider digital infrastructure strategy and development roadmap.
- Oracle Database technologies (RAC, Dataguard, RMAN Backup and Recovery) and Public Cloud Technologies (particularly OCI and AWS).
- Writing Infrastructure as Code and debugging Terraform and Ansible.
- Managing and maintaining Security procedures including:
- Implementing network segregation in a public cloud environment (preferably AWS).
- Incorporating transport encryption to protect data in transit (preferably Oracle).
- Understanding implementation of database encryption options (preferably Oracle).
- Conducting Migration Testing (preferably through Oracle and AWS) and implementing secure authentication with OIDC for GitLab runners.
- Maintaining and updating repositories with Git.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SENIOR INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER
- Oracle Database technologies (RAC, Dataguard, RMAN Backup and Recovery) and Public Cloud Technologies (particularly OCI and AWS).
- Writing Infrastructure as Code and debugging Terraform and Ansible.
- Managing and maintaining Security procedures including:
- Implementing network segregation in a public cloud environment (preferably AWS).
- Incorporating transport encryption to protect data in transit (preferably Oracle).
- Understanding implementation of database encryption options (preferably Oracle).
- Conducting Migration Testing (preferably through Oracle and AWS) and implementing secure authentication with OIDC for GitLab runners.
- Maintaining and updating repositories with Git.
- Oracle RDBMS 11.2-23ai experience of supporting Oracle RAC including ASM, AFD, HANFS, TAF.
- Additional experience of multitenant, TDE and TLS desirable.
- Specifically in a Linux/Aix OS environment.
- RMAN Backup and recovery OEM, OCI’s Db Management Patching and Upgrade experience.
- Track record of supporting highly available mission critical databases.
- Dataguard setup and configuration.
- Data migration tooling Datapump, Golden Gate, ZDM.
- Exadata and Base Database configuration experience in OCI.
