Spinwell is recruiting for an Assurance Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ASSURANCE OFFICER
- To manage the independent scrutiny functions of the OPCC including the Independent Custody Visiting Scheme, AWS and other scrutiny panels effectively and efficiently ensuring the scheme delivers the statutory function of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
- To support the Performance and Assurance team in holding the force to account in their provision of an effective and efficient police service.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE ASSURANCE OFFICER
- Educated to degree level in a relevant field or must be able to demonstrate experience in an assurance or research environment where it has been necessary to facilitate scrutiny and assurance panels.
- Have a working knowledge of IT software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Have recent experience of correspondence management and report writing which has required researching complex issues and liaison with others in order to make recommendations for action or to provide a full and accurate response.
- Provide support to the Commissioner and OPCC on performance and assurance matters by having the ability to analyse and present information in a range of formats and an ability to interpret policy, reports, research etc. and advise on specific issues, ensuring exposure to risk is highlighted.
- Demonstrate high levels of self-motivation and experience of working with minimum supervision, managing own workload and using initiative to resolve issues.
- Demonstrate ability to identify areas for improvement in the interests of efficiency and effectiveness, including processes and procedures and implementing any such proposals.
- To demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt these skills according to the audience and subject matter.
- To have experience of managing relationships with a wide group of individuals to achieve an organisational objective.
- Demonstrate excellent IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Applications including Office, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
