Spinwell is recruiting for an Electrical Technician for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

  • Support Authorised electrical testers inspecting and testing electrical equipment to ensure compliance with the BS7671: Requirements for Electrical Installations and Codes of Practice.
  • Provide electrical technician expertise to Plant Responsible Officers (PROs); to be hands-on supervisor for electrical installation, maintenance and repair work on plant such as control systems, distribution systems and power conversion systems.
  • Assist with fault finding and repairs to controls systems within cubicles and plant under limited supervision.
  • Able to take ownership of technical delivery of tasks.
  • Capable of undertaking delicate and fragile work e.g., thermocouple connections.
  • Work under supervision to fault find on large power conversion systems.
  • Assist with the build and commissioning of new electrical plant and equipment.
  • Generate and maintain appropriate documentation relevant to the above tasks including writing safe systems of work.
  • Undertaken general work duties as required to support the facilities.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN

  • C&G2330 Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology or equivalent qualifications such as an ONC/HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering will be acceptable.
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
  • Apprentice trained with relevant experience working in an industrial environment on 3-phase power systems.
  • Desirable: Inspection and Testing of Electrical Systems.
