An established ship management company is seeking three Technical Managers to support ongoing fleet growth and new vessel acquisitions. This is a senior role overseeing technical operations across a mixed fleet, with flexibility on background including oil tankers, chemical tankers, or dry bulk vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the safe, efficient and cost-effective operation of assigned vessels via direct management of Superintendents
- Lead and support 3-4 Superintendents, ensuring strong technical standards and performance across the fleet
- Manage technical budgets, including maintenance, repairs, dry docking and spares, ensuring cost control and optimisation
- Provide technical and financial reporting to senior management and vessel owners
- Oversee and support dry dockings (typically 3-6 per year) and major repairs
- Monitor vessel condition, performance and compliance with class, flag and company requirements
- Ensure effective incident investigation, claims handling and corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement across technical operations, systems and onboard practices
- Maintain strong communication between vessels, superintendents and senior leadership
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience as a Technical Manager / Fleet Manager / Senior Superintendent
- Background in oil tankers, chemical tankers or dry bulk vessels
- Strong experience in budget management, dry docking and team leadership
- Commercially aware with the ability to balance cost, safety and operational performance
- Must be open to international travel for vessel visits, dry dockings and operational support
- Open to 5 days per week in the office
