Senior Dry Vessel Operator- London

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established shipowner/operator based in London, trading a fleet that includes dry bulk. This is a newly created seat in an established operations team.

They want someone who can step in and run dry bulk voyages from day one as they have several new deliveries coming into the fleet. The role involves:

• Sitting across chartering, agents, masters, and technical managers to keep every fixture running to plan.
• Building voyage orders, tracking port and regulatory restrictions, and keeping the Master briefed throughout.
• Handling freight and hire invoicing, chasing disputes, and handing over to claims when needed.
• Feeding chartering what they need on live fixtures: intakes, cleaning plans, ETAs.
• Making calls under pressure and knowing when to push a decision up the chain.

What they're looking for:

• Genuine dry bulk operations experience, ideally 5 years or more, gained at a shipowner, operator, or major trading house (strong candidates with a bit less will still be considered).
• Comfortable working without someone checking in on routine calls.
• Sharp commercial judgement and a track record of sorting disputes before they escalate.
• Confident in Excel and IMOS or an equivalent system.
• Clear written and spoken English.
• Organised, methodical, and happy to put in the hours a commercial desk sometimes demands.

Office-based in London, five days a week. Some evening and weekend availability comes with the territory, same as any commercial shipping seat. Impressive company, strong fleet, genuine room to grow. Ideally, people will already be based in London but our client will consider arranging visa requirements for a great Vessel Operator interested in relocating.
