Part Time Inhouse Claims and Insurance Manager ***Part Time opportunity to join a shipmanager in London*** Rare opportunity for an experienced lawyer or solicitor to join a shipmanagement company in London for 2 days per week or 4 half days if you prefer. The Legal and Insurance Manager will be responsible for managing claims that arise, such as cargo damage, cargo shortage or late delivery for dry bulk (grains, wheat, barley, sugar or rice). There may also be FD&D contract claims such as laytime and demurrage, bunker claims or P&I claims such as vessel collisions or crew claims. This is a standalone role so you\’ll have autonomy to run the cases from beginning to end with the support of the P&I Club. You\’ll also be utilising your negotiation skills for insurance renewals for P&I, FD&D, war risks, H&M and non-marine insurance such as buildings and contents insurance. This role would suit a UK qualified solicitor or lawyer that has UK shipping claims experience and excellent relationship building skills. Sponsorship is not available, UK working entitlement is essential. This is a great opportunity to be part of the wider business and build solid working relationships with third party suppliers and colleagues.
