About Spin Group

Spin Group is a 360 social agency group built to help brands stay culturally relevant in an increasingly fragmented digital landscape. The group is made up of three specialist agencies:

  • A creative-first 360 social media agency working with household-name consumer brands to deliver strategy, content, creators and paid social that drives tangible business impact.
  • A specialist YouTube and audience growth agency managing channels for major entertainment brands, media companies and sporting bodies.
  • A B-Corp certified production studio creating cinematic, culturally-led content.

Together, the group combines strategy, social, production and platform expertise to help brands build meaningful connections with modern audiences.

The Role

We are hiring a Group Commercial Director to lead new business growth across Spin Group. Reporting directly to the Chief Business Officer, this role will sit at the centre of the group’s commercial engine - managing inbound opportunities, driving proactive outreach, and leading the early stages of the pitch process. This person will act as the front door to Spin Group, responsible for identifying and nurturing new client relationships while ensuring opportunities are well-qualified and commercially viable. The role requires someone who understands modern marketing, social culture, and brand storytelling, but who also has the commercial instincts to turn conversations into profitable partnerships. Time and focus across the three agencies will be dynamic, based on where the greatest commercial opportunity sits. Each agency operates against monthly new business targets, while success is ultimately measured against group quarterly and annual revenue growth.

Primary Objective

New Client Acquisition

The core responsibility of the role is to generate and convert new client relationships across Spin Group. This includes managing inbound opportunities, building a proactive pipeline through outreach and networking, and leading the early commercial conversations that turn interest into pitch opportunities.

Secondary Objective

Client Growth & Retention Support

While the primary focus is acquisition, the role will also support the Client Partner and Creative Director to ensure new work is scoped effectively and positioned for long-term success. This helps maximise:

  • Client satisfaction
  • Profitability of new accounts
  • Long-term retention
  • Upsell and cross-agency opportunities

Key Responsibilities

  • New Business Pipeline: Manage and qualify inbound leads while building a proactive pipeline of opportunities with global and enterprise brands.
  • Strategic Outreach: Develop relationships with senior marketing leaders across target brands through events, networking, introductions and strategic outreach.
  • Opportunity Qualification: Act as a commercial gatekeeper, ensuring the group focuses its time on opportunities that align with our capabilities, ambitions and pricing.
  • Pitch Leadership: Lead the early stages of the pitch process - shaping the commercial narrative and positioning Spin Group’s capabilities in a compelling way.
  • Cross-Agency Opportunity Building: Identify opportunities where Spin, Be A Bear and Tiny Studios can work together to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Commercial Systems & Process: Maintain strong pipeline visibility and help refine the systems that support new business across the group.
  • Industry Presence: Represent Spin Group at events, marketing activations and industry gatherings to build awareness and relationships.

What We’re Looking For

  • Agency New Business Experience: 8+ years in business development, commercial partnerships or growth roles within creative, social, media or production agencies.
  • Blue-Chip Brand Exposure: Experience working with large global brands, enterprise organisations, or major media companies.
  • Cultural Fluency: You understand social media, creator culture and how brands operate in modern digital ecosystems.
  • Relationship Builder: Highly personable and charismatic, able to build trust quickly with senior marketing leaders.
  • Strategic Communicator: Comfortable translating social strategy, creative ideas and production capabilities into clear commercial value.
  • Commercially Organised: Strong at managing pipelines, tracking opportunities and maintaining commercial discipline.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Proactive, curious and comfortable operating in a fast-moving independent business.

How Success Is Measured

Success in the role will be measured by:

  • New client acquisition across Spin Group
  • Delivery of monthly new business targets for each entity
  • Group quarterly and annual revenue growth
  • Quality and conversion of the new business pipeline
  • Long-term client profitability and retention
