Warehouse Operator (Day Shift) – Spider is advertising on behalf of our client, a leading Greek importer and distributor of the finest Greek food and drink.

They are now looking for a Warehouse Operator, to join their operations team based in Bermondsey, Southwark, London (Spa Terminus).

They are seeking someone with experience working within a warehouse environment supplying Restaurants, Hotels, Delis, Retailers and Direct-to-Consumer customers.

Experience within food distribution, FMCG, or temperature-controlled storage environments would be highly advantageous.

If you do not have direct food industry experience but are organised, reliable, hands-on, and able to learn quickly in a fast-paced operational environment, we would still like to hear from you.

  • Opportunity to grow within a fast-paced and expanding food business About the role: The Warehouse Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate, safe, and efficient receipt, storage, preparation, and dispatch of products.

The role includes goods-in and goods-out processes, stock rotation, organisation of warehouse space, maintaining cleanliness and food safety compliance, and supporting other operational activities as required.

The Warehouse Operator is a key link in delivering excellent service to customers by ensuring products are picked, packed, and dispatched to the highest quality.

Working hours are Monday – Friday, 06:00 – 15:00 Key responsibilities

  • Receive, check, and accurately book in deliveries while maintaining precise stock records.
  • Safely unload, store, and organise stock, including chilled and perishable goods, in line with food safety standards.
  • Manage inventory through regular stock checks and FEFO stock rotation to maintain quality and minimise waste.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately for dispatch, ensuring excellent presentation and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with drivers and colleagues to resolve order queries and support smooth warehouse operations.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health & safety, and housekeeping while contributing to a positive team environment.. About You:
  • Organised & Detailed: Strong attention to detail, accurate stock management, and ability to prepare and pack products to a consistently high standard.
  • Reliable: Punctual, self-motivated, maintains a neat appearance and good personal hygiene, and performs well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Physically Capable: Fit and able to safely lift and move heavy or bulky items in warehouse and refrigerated environments.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office and confident using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Bonus

Points: Experience in stock control, food handling and hygiene, or holding a forklift licence.
