Visitor Centre Assistant/ Visitor Centre Officer– Spider is advertising on behalf of an international equine charity for a Visitor Centre Assistant to join their team based in Blackpool, Lancashire on a part-time, permanent basis.

About the role:

As a Visitor Centre Officer, you will be the face of their organisation, welcoming visitors and guiding them through an informative and enjoyable experience at their working farm. Your role is essential in creating a professional and inviting atmosphere that reflects their charity\’s values. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including the café, events team, and volunteer coordinators, to ensure seamless operations and promote their mission of horse welfare. Working hours will be 32 hours over 4 days, operated on a flexible basis and weekend working is required. A flexible approach towards working hours is essential as some events can take place outside of normal working hours.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Deliver engaging guided tours of the working farm, creating an informative and enjoyable experience for visitors.
Collaborate with the café team to ensure effective preparation and operation, including end-of-day procedures.
Support the planning and execution of events that enhance the charity’s profile and generate essential income.
Manage visitor enquiries related to booking and usage of facilities, ensuring arrangements align with event organiser requirements.
Assist in the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to support the charity’s mission effectively.

About you:

As a Visitor Centre Assistant, you will be personable, approachable and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to connect effortlessly with people at all levels, including VIP visitors. You should be self-motivated and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. A passion for equine welfare and an understanding of the charity sector would be desirable but not essential. Your professional appearance and flexible mindset will help you contribute positively to their team and mission.
