Multimodal Solutions is looking for a Load Safety Checker to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis at our customer site in Shotton, Flintshire, Wales.

About the role:

As a Load Safety Checker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and compliant movement of goods by monitoring and enforcing load safety and load restraint standards for visiting LGV road hauliers. Working as part of a dedicated customer service and operations team, you will be responsible for conducting safety inspections, supporting drivers on site, and helping to maintain the highest standards of health and safety compliance. Working hours for this role will be 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:30am – 6:30pm. The role is site-based and requires working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet incoming LGV drivers, carrying out site inductions and safety briefings
  • Monitor and enforce customer load safety and load restraint standards across site operations
  • Conduct safety inspections of trailers prior to loading and unloading activities
  • Assist drivers in preparing trailers for loading and ensure loads are correctly configured before departure
  • Supervise and control haulier drivers while on site, ensuring compliance with site safety procedures
  • Complete reports relating to non-conformances and safety issues, escalating concerns where appropriate

About you:

As a Load Safety Checker, you will have a strong awareness of health and safety requirements within the road haulage, transport, or logistics sector. You will be confident communicating with drivers and colleagues, able to work independently, and committed to maintaining high safety standards. You will ideally hold a CCNSG Safety Passport and have knowledge of LGV driver procedures, trailer types, and relevant HSE legislation. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and basic IT proficiency are essential. A flexible and proactive approach is important, along with the ability to work outdoors and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision. A full, clean driving licence is required.
