Saffron Building Society is seeking a motivated and highly-organised Customer Service Advisor/ Business Development Advisor to join their team in Saffron Walden, Essex, on a full-time permanent basis.

About the role:

As a Customer Service Advisor/ Business Development Advisor, you will support our dedicated team by engaging with brokers and performing essential administrative tasks. This role is all about fostering relationships and enhancing the broker experience. This role is 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday, hours to cover between 8.30 am – 5.30 pm, with hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming telephone calls, emails, and LifeChat enquiries, prioritising broker support effectively.
  • Assist brokers with product information, mortgage submissions, and navigation of the Saffron for Brokers website.
  • Process new broker registrations within 24 hours to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Promote the Society's products and services to enhance broker engagement and grow market share.
  • Encourage high-quality, right-first-time mortgage submissions to support efficient case processing.

About you:

As a Customer Service Advisor/ Business Development Advisor you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and time management abilities. You are customer-focused, highly organised, and able to build and maintain effective relationships with mortgage intermediaries. Knowledge of the mortgage intermediary/broker sector and the UK mortgage regulatory framework is desirable. A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service, acting with integrity, and adhering to the individual conduct rules of the PRA and FCA is essential.
