About the role:
As a PSV / HGV Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the fleet remains safe, compliant, and fully operational. Working on a shift rota of 40-50 hours per week, including evenings and some weekends, you will carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs while supporting efficient fleet performance.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Carry out preventative maintenance inspections, servicing, and repairs on vehicles
- Liaise with drivers, transport teams, and workshop management regarding defects and repairs
- Ensure accurate maintenance of records and documentation
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping within the workshop and vehicles
- Work in full compliance with Health & Safety regulations
- Support breakdown coordination and participate in a call-out rota to minimise vehicle downtime
About you:
As a PSV / HGV Technician, you will be fully trained and experienced in commercial vehicle maintenance, with strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You will have a good understanding of VOSA vehicle roadworthiness requirements and be confident using maintenance software, diagnostic tools, and defect reporting systems.
A relevant mechanical qualification such as NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) is preferred, although extensive practical experience with strong references will also be considered. A full UK driving licence is essential, and while a PSV licence would be advantageous, training can be provided for the right candidate.
