About the role:
As a Groupage Road Freight Forwarder, you will play a key role within the forwarding team, coordinating the movement of freight across Ireland, the UK, and Europe. Managing both trailer and container movements, you will ensure customer requirements are met efficiently while maintaining excellent service standards and commercial performance. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced freight forwarding professional with strong operational knowledge of UK and European road freight movements. Experience managing exports from Ireland to the UK and Europe. The working hours are 08:30 to 17:30 Monday to Friday.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate road freight shipments across Ireland, the UK, and Europe, ensuring customer requirements are met efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Process customer bookings, create and maintain accurate job files, and update shipment information using internal systems and the Azyra Transport Management System (TMS).
- Plan and route UK and European trailer movements, liaising with hauliers and third-party transport providers.
- Manage inbound and outbound communications with customers, suppliers, agents, and transport partners.
- Prepare operational documentation including manifests, CMRs, Proofs of Delivery (PODs), arrival notifications, and delivery documentation.
- Create customer invoices, enter accruals, and work closely with the finance team to resolve invoice queries.
- Support customs and freight administration processes while ensuring accurate data entry and compliance.
- Collaborate with warehousing, finance, and management teams to achieve customer service levels, business KPIs, and operational targets.
About you:
As a Groupage Road Freight Forwarder, you will have a minimum of three years' experience within freight forwarding, shipping, transport, logistics, or supply chain operations. You will possess strong operational knowledge of road freight movements, customs processes and be confident in managing multiple shipments, deadlines, and customer requirements simultaneously. Experience handling exports from Ireland to the UK and Europe would be highly desirable, along with previous experience using the Azyra Transport Management System (TMS). Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required. You will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and commercially aware, with excellent communication and customer service skills. A proactive approach, strong problem-solving ability, and the confidence to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and external partners are essential.
