Spider is recruiting on behalf of a growing and forward-thinking freight forwarding and logistics business for an Operations Co-ordinator to join their team based in Little Blakenham, Suffolk on a full-time, permanent basis.

About the role:

As an Operations Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in managing freight movements across European road freight, as well as supporting air and sea freight operations. Working closely with customers, hauliers, shipping lines and overseas partners, you will be responsible for ensuring shipments are delivered efficiently while maintaining exceptional customer service. This genuinely multi-modal role offers excellent variety, responsibility, and opportunities for professional development. Working hours for this role will be 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, on site in Little Blakenham.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage European road freight movements, with involvement in air and sea freight operations.
  • Oversee shipments from booking through to final delivery, ensuring smooth and efficient transport.
  • Serve as the main customer contact, providing proactive updates, support, and issue resolution.
  • Liaise with hauliers, shipping lines, airlines, and international logistics partners to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records, documentation, system updates, and supplier databases.
  • Support procurement activities by reviewing supplier rates, sourcing new partners, assisting with negotiations, and identifying cost-effective transport solutions.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have at least one year's recent experience within freight forwarding, logistics, transport operations, or supply chain coordination. You will be highly organised, customer-focused, and comfortable managing multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Experience with European road freight would be advantageous, while exposure to air and sea freight operations would also be beneficial. You will possess strong communication, customer service, problem-solving, and organisational skills, alongside excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness. A proactive approach, willingness to take ownership of your workload, and a genuine desire to learn and develop are essential.
