Spider is advertising on behalf of a specialist lifting and rigging company operating within the Commercial and Theatre sectors. Due to continued business growth, they are seeking an experienced Lifting Equipment Inspector to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will primarily work across Norfolk and Suffolk, with occasional travel required throughout the rest of the UK. About the role

As a Lifting Equipment Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out on-site and off-site inspections to ensure lifting equipment complies with current legislation and company standards. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety, operational compliance, and customer satisfaction. The role requires strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage inspection schedules efficiently while maintaining professional client relationships.

Main responsibilities and Duties:

  • Carry out lifting equipment inspections in line with current legislation and company procedures
  • Record inspection findings using cloud-based software and compile certification and client reports
  • Identify and recommend remedial works and advise clients on legal compliance requirements
  • Assist with the planning, scheduling, inspection, and maintenance of company-owned rigging equipment
  • Maintain safe working practices in accordance with company health and safety policies
  • Provide technical support to colleagues and clients while acting as a professional ambassador for the company

About you:

As a Lifting Equipment Inspector, you will be highly self-motivated, organised, and committed to delivering high-quality inspection services. You will have experience working within a similar role and be confident managing complex workloads to tight deadlines while maintaining excellent customer service standards. Essential requirements include: LEEA Foundation Course (FOU). You must also hold at least one of the following:

  • LEEA Lifting Equipment General (LEG) / Lifting Accessories (LAC)
  • LEEA Lifting Machines Manual (LMM) / Manual Lifting Machines (MLM)
  • LEEA Lifting Machines Power (LMP) / Powered Lifting Machines (PLM)

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar inspection role and strong written and verbal communication skills in fluent English. You will be computer literate with MS Office experience, highly organised, and detail-oriented. The ability to manage workloads to tight deadlines, provide excellent customer service, and maintain a professional approach is essential. You will be flexible, self-motivated, and confident working independently or as part of a team.
