Spider is advertising for a specialist in temporary electrical distribution, super-silent generators, and complete event support solutions. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Ipswich, Suffolk.

About the role

As an Event and Warehouse Technician, you will support day-to-day warehouse operations and provide technical support for events and client projects. Working both at the company's warehouse and on-site, you will prepare, maintain, deliver, install, and service specialist equipment, ensuring it is ready for deployment and returned equipment is processed efficiently. Standard working hours are 40 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with occasional evenings and weekends as required by project schedules.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare, inspect, test, repair, and maintain equipment, generators, vehicles, and associated assets ready for hire and event use.
  • Deliver, collect, install, and support temporary electrical distribution systems, generators, and event equipment at client sites.
  • Maintain accurate stock records, monitor consumables, support stock control processes, and assist with annual stock takes.
  • Work closely with the Operations team to coordinate logistics, transport, staffing, and equipment requirements for upcoming projects and hires.
  • Provide technical support to customers on-site and over the phone while building strong, professional client relationships.
  • Maintain warehouse, yard, fleet, and equipment presentation standards, ensuring a safe, organised, and professional working environment at all times.

About you

Practical, organised, and enjoying a hands-on, varied role. Experience within warehouse operations, events, temporary power, generators, plant equipment, vehicle maintenance, electrical systems, or a similar technical environment is advantageous. Strong communication and customer service skills, good IT knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining excellent attention to detail. A positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential. A full UK driving licence is required, and experience towing trailers and generators is highly beneficial. Additional qualifications such as forklift, B+E, BS7909, ADR, First Aid, or Health & Safety certifications are desirable but not essential, as training can be provided.
